Thanks for all your suggestions for my Next Steps. I definitely agree something Asiatic is called for, with spiritual and corporeal aspects, yet fundamentally Mr Blobby-like. And I thought everyone knew Pluto is actually a dog.
Speaking of Next Steps, here, by popular demand, is a photo of my fabulous new shoes, tonight demonstrated [...]

Finally acknowledging the ravages of age, the dramatic effects on the body of too many late nights and the tropical sag of the muscles, I went yesterday to get a face massage at the Paradis Day Spa in Silom soi 2, a soi renowned for its non-pretentiousness. My masseur, Nok, was most helpful and [...]

…für eine bessere Zukunft. The temporary crown has been put on successfully, though again, it took some time to do the aufbau, pin and shaping of the temporary crown. I’ve got to wait a week for the real thing, and then the dentist, Dr S., will do the veneers, then it’s nearly all over. [...]

The dentist is going to start reconstructing my tooth on Thursday and today she bleached the lower ones, so they will match the new tooth and veneers on the top. This was surprisingly painful, and I am still needing paracetamol several hours later. I’ve been told to eat only white food, which excludes [...]

Had a hectic dental few days, with two appointments yesterday to round it off. The root canal was a bit of a non-event, pain-wise, though it took fully two hours from start to finish. The second appointment yesterday was with a gum specialist, who wanted to do various fancy re-contouring procedures. I [...]

I’ve beaten a retreat from the water margins of Beta-2-Land and returned safely to the sunlit uplands of the Democratic Republic of XP. A land where plugins install themselves, you don’t have to wait all day for the damn thing to turn on and off, and bluetooth stacks don’t topple. It took rather [...]

I’m very excited (if a bit numb on one half of my tongue) today, as I finally made it into the dentist’s chair (four months after my right upper lateral incisor broke in half). The joy lasted 1.5 hours, and didn’t hurt too much, and the skin grafts are still intact. I had [...]

Today has been much more prosaic than yesterday – actually it’s been quite a day of getting back to normal a bit more. I must be feeling better because I’ve been being very geeky. By this morning, I had decided to put XP Professional back on my computer when (to my extreme, if completely sad, [...]

Warum?

I also wondered about hairy mouth, but I bet there are places in Bangkok where you can get your oral mucosa depilated at a fraction of European prices – I’ll have a look at the internet later. In the meantime, the only filaments are the remnants of Dr S.’s elegant little sutures, which are [...]

I’m glad to see a debate being sparked off among my blog commenteers! Isn’t the internet wonderful? It must have been the same when they invented the penny black.
I’ve been to see Superman Returns, in 3D, though much of it was only in 2D and you had to keep on taking the funny glasses off [...]

After having been discharged from the clinic by Dr S., who took photos (of my grafts) for posterity, and seemed rather pleased with his handiwork, I went shopping. As one does, I was browsing washing machines at the Emporium, and got trapped in a comprehensive sales pitch for the latest Siemens (reduced to 24900 [...]

Went to see the film “Sophie Scholl” today – not what you’d call a barrel of laughs, but I’d been wanting to see it ever since I missed it in Berlin. It seems to be a remake of the earlier film, “Die Weisse Rose”, but I thought it was better, concentrating mainly on the [...]

Today I moved to my new room at the Victory Residence, a few miles from the Omni. The room is only a few square metres smaller, but costs about a third of the price, and it’s only 3 minutes from the Skytrain, which makes a huge difference. The roof garden is [...]
